With the onset of the barbecue grill season
the Massena Volunteer Fire Department would
like to remind you to visit our Prevention
page for some general safety tips but above
all remember the following safety tips in
case of a fire in your grill!
In Case of a
Barbecue
Fire
- Close the lid on a
charcoal
grill.
- Turn off the burners
on a gas
grill.
- If the
fire involves a propane tank,
leave it alone, get out of the area and
call 9-1-1.
- Do not attempt to
extinguish a grease
fire with water. It will cause
the flames to flare up. Use a
fire extinguisher.
